Incident at American Savings Bank

On 8-2-2009 approximately 10:15 AM I was standing in line at the American Savings Bank at Ala Moana Shopping Center.

I was standing behind a man approximately 5 foot 10 inches, medium build weighing about 175 lbs in his late 20s or early 30s wearing a dirty yellow tshirt as though it he had laid on the ground while wearing it. He was called to a teller and I was called to one to his left. He was turned left slightly so he could see me.

Due to an expired ID he was refused service. The teller used his name as he had obviously been in before. he claimed he had a disability and his wallet had been stolen. The man exploded when he was refused service.

He yelled accusing the teller of committing fraud on camera.

When the yelling began I turned toward the man remaining at a 45 degree angle. No physical movement toward the tellers took place so I remained silent not wanting to escalate the situation, but ready to defend the tellers if I absolutely had to.

Part of his verbal abuse was asking her if she wanted to die (yes on camera). On his way out he walked by me looked at one of the tellers and said what are you looking at b*.

The tellers told me they knew this person and it wasn't his first incident. I'm glad I didn't have to get physical with the man, but it does go to show you, no matter how much you're careful of being in potentially dangerous situation they can occur anywhere and anytime.

So be prepared
